Supervision

Supervision should be fun and supportive and nourishing and hopeful! And yes it also should be challenging on occasion, sometimes tricky and thought provoking. That’s what I believe at least – supervision with me is about replenishing your resources and honouring the work that you do and it’s also a place for development, exploring, and examining our work, I want you to be the best for your clients you can be – working professionally and ethically and with a clear why as to what you do what you do – but that certainly doesn’t mean our work is dull or just a list of cases.

I’m an experienced person centred therapist but welcome working with others from different therapeutic perspectives and – unsuprisingly if you’ve nosed round the rest of my site – I have a special interest in outdoor therapy. Not a counsellor? Not a problem, I’ve supervised coaches and those in non counselling roles too.

The counselling experience that I bring with me is varied – including private practice, third sector and charity work. I’ve also over 15 years experience in being self employed, both in private work and in my previous career and have a strong background in marketing and social media. I also work with a faith organisation and love it when a spiritual dimension comes into the work.

I have access to a private woodland space for supervision. Alternatively we can work online, using various platforms – yes navigating outdoor supervision online can be unusual but it works!

As well as traditional monthly or fortnightly sessions I’m happy to work on a more infrequent basis or ad-hoc or emergency one-off sessions. For example if you’re looking to examine elements around outdoor therapy or need a session whilst your regular supervisor is away. My rates start at £70/hour with reduced fees for counselling students possible on discussion.
