Counselling outdoors might appeal to you for a few reasons:
- Maybe you find a traditional counselling room set up too formal
- Maybe you find it easier to talk when you’re walking outside
- Maybe you spend a lot of time indoors and want an opportunity to get some fresh air
- Maybe you’re curious about how working outdoors in nature can help you
Some clients prefer to walk and talk, others prefer to find somewhere to sit, however you feel most comfortable we’ll work together so that you can tackle your problem, improve your mood and increase your confidence.
Walk and Talk or Outdoor therapy means I’ve some flexibility, mostly I’m based in and around Shrewsbury and Telford – specifically Wellington, Ironbridge and Madeley but other venues in Shropshire and The Wrekin are possible. Many of the spaces that I work from are accessible by public transport, and are chosen to be accessible for those with mobility issues. I’ve also access to a private woodland if you prefer (though there may be some additional costs for this). Sessions are £40 for our first one, then typically £65 after that, although I do offer some sessions at lower rates for trainee counsellors or those on lower incomes. I also offer one off sessions which are £150 each.
If that sounds worth trying then I’d love to hear from you, do give me a call. If you’d like to find out more you can see posts on my blog under the outdoor therapy tags, or keep an eye on my Facebook and Instagram pages where I often talk about outdoor counselling.
